迎えにきたジープ p.178-179 Kaji has a very complex past history. He is a poet, a critic, an actor, a street speaker and a painter. His political activities changed rapidly. He was a member of the Japanese Communist Party, a propaganda agent of the KMT, and a spy on the Communist Party of China. During the war, he was engaged in work of the US secret agency.
迎えにきたジープ p.180-181 In Chongqing, Kaji was planning an operation by a Japanese group called “Democratic Japan Construction Alliance” to disturb Japan, as a Spy on the KMT side.
迎えにきたジープ p.182-183 And the US arrested a man, a Soviet spy. This man was Kaji, who was supposed to be a US spy. No wonder the US side got angry. “Bite the hand that feeds you.”
迎えにきたジープ p.184-185 The Soviet Union learned from Mitsuhashi’s report that Kaji was arrested by the US. So, the Soviet might have used Japanese public opinion to release Kaji and use it to boost anti-American sentiment.
